A387 Grade 22 Class 2 is a 2.25Cr‑1Mo alloy pressure vessel steel plate designed for medium‑temperature hydrogen service and high‑pressure petrochemical equipment. Compared with Class 1, Class 2 provides higher strength, improved creep resistance, and enhanced stability under elevated temperatures up to approximately 600°C. The steel is supplied in normalized and tempered condition to ensure uniform microstructure, reliable weldability, and long‑term performance in hydrogen‑rich environments.

Chemical Composition (ASTM A387)

Cr‑Mo alloying provides oxidation resistance, hydrogen corrosion resistance, and long‑term creep strength.

Mechanical Properties

These properties support safe operation in hydrogen reactors and high‑temperature pressure systems.
